Nursery

Our nursery provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning from an early age.

Transition into HEY

Starting nursery is an exciting milestone for children and parents alike. We aim to make the transition as smooth and positive as possible. Our team will work closely with you to help your child settle in and feel secure in their new environment.

What does my child need to wear?

School uniform is available to purchase if you wish and is available from the school website. We recommend simple, comfortable clothing and velcro footwear to support independence. A spare set of clothing should be provided in a named bag on the days that your child is attending HEY.

Please visit our uniform page to find out more.

What will the children be learning?

Our setting follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five years. We focus on developing key skills through play, exploration and active learning. The EYFS is built around these prime areas of learning:

Children will take part in a mix of adult-led activities and independent learning opportunities, designed to help them grow and explore at their own pace.

Safety and security

Your child’s safety is our priority. All gates and entrances are secured during the day, and children are always supervised during play and learning activities. Staff are trained in safeguarding procedures, and two members of staff will be present at dismissal times.

Healthy eating

Full-time children can bring a packed lunch. Children have access to a ‘Snack Bar’ alongside a member of staff between 9:30 and 10:30 each morning where a choice of fruit and a carbohydrate is available alongside milk or water.

Parents as partners

We value the knowledge and insights you have about your child. Our nursery team will work in partnership with you to support your child’s development and learning journey. Regular communication will help us to understand your child’s needs and celebrate their progress together.

Sessions and funding

Our nursery offers flexible sessions to suit your family’s needs:

We accept 15-hour and 30-hour government funding and offer additional paid sessions where needed. Please contact the school office for further details about availability and fees.

We are excited to welcome your child to our setting and look forward to helping them grow and thrive in a warm and supportive environment.
